ATG Europe & Telespazio Belgium win the PA/QA service provision bid for EUSPA in support to the Galileo program
ATG Europe and Telespazio Belgium are proud to announce their selection as the companies to work at EUSPA’s service, within a framework agreement, following a recent public tender for the provision of PA/QA (Product Assurance, Quality Assurance) services in support to Europe’s Global Satellite Navigation System, Galileo.
The Galileo program is Europe’s initiative for a state-of-the-art global satellite navigation system, providing a highly accurate, guaranteed global positioning service under civilian control. While providing autonomous navigation and positioning services, Galileo is interoperable with other systems such as GPS and GLONASS. The system, when fully deployed, will consist of 30 satellites, to be deployed in a staggered approach, associated to its ground infrastructures.
With Telespazio Belgium as prime contractor and with the support of ATG Europe, both will ensure the technical leadership of the project providing crucial support as experts in innovative high-tech projects in the field of Product and Quality Assurance disciplines.
EUSPA
EUSPA is the only European Union agency dedicated to space. Their unique mission is to serve as the essential link between space technology and user needs, translating the European Union’s investment in space into valuable, reliable services for European citizens.
EUSPA is responsible for operational management of the EGNOS and Galileo satellite navigation programme and for ensuring the continuous provision of their services. This involves the management, operation, maintenance, continuous improvement, evolution, and protection of the systems’ infrastructure, including upgrades and obsolescence management. The Agency is also responsible for developing future generations of the systems, the evolution of their services, and for activities related to the extension of their coverage.
GALILEO
Galileo is Europe’s Global Satellite Navigation System (GNSS). Internationally acclaimed, Galileo provides improved positioning and timing information with significant positive implications for many European services and users. This offers Europe and European citizens independence and sovereignty, an array of environmental benefits and several new services specific to the Galileo programme (Open Service, Commercial Service, Search and Rescue and general pinpoint localisation tracking).
